Who is Neon Goldfish?

Plain and simple, Neon Goldfish is a full service marketing solutions provider. We have core talent concentrations in website design, website development, search engine marketing, social media marketing and email marketing. We work directly with businesses of all sizes to help them attract new customers and increase the transaction frequency of current customers.

The humble, unlikely origins of Neon Goldfish date back to 2007. Two friends from different parts of the marketing industry were enjoying a beer. They were discussing 'one day' collaboration possibilities in connection with a potential website development project for a construction company. The more animatedly they discussed, the more Justin Johnson and Ken Franzen recognized that similar goals, ideals and work-ethics coupled with their unique skill sets could create a powerful offering - a powerful talent - for potential clients. In short order, the beverages were forgotten, but the enterprise was launched!

In 4 short years, that one project has turned into many. While we're located in Toledo, Ohio, and our client base is largely Midwest, we've worked with clients from Hartford to Orlando to San Francisco. The common denominator in all cases? Helping businesses all over America create custom marketing solutions supporting their marketing goals. The good news? Hard work and commitment to client satisfaction have afforded Neon Goldfish strong company growth in a time of wrenching economic turbulence.

What's with the name?

Way back in high school in Monroe, Michigan, Ken and his good friend DJ were playing their guitars and watching a Red Wings hockey game when they decided it was time to figure out a name for the garage band they would no doubt form one day. After much enthusiastic deliberation, they arrived at the name “Neon Goldfish”..... and that is about as far as the band progressed!

Ken's attachment to the name stuck, however. For reasons associated purely with nostalgia, he later registered the domain name neongoldfish.com.

That turned out to be very fortuitous for the new enterprise. During the firm's launch, Justin and Ken were determined to make the fledgling company's name memorable: easy to spell and easier to remember! After quite a bit of searching for new domain names, we remembered that we had already registered a very promising domain name: Neon Goldfish! And that's the name we chose. The garage band never made it, but its legacy - a great brand name with an important mission – lives on!
